Golden showers and small favors

Yesterday was a day when I thought God was playing a joke on me. Well, if he'd been paying attention to me, rather than all the, oh I don't know, actual important things. But I moped anyway, like Alexander (Alexander? from "No good very bad day"?) because I spent all morning puking out a boring resume then dragging myself to a nearby temp agency. That office? OH MY GOD. It is sadness personified. They had a few fake plants and some non-offensive music playing softly in the background. I felt my insides crawling back towards my spine, begging me please do not take a job here. No worries, they had nothing for me yesterday. And also? On the upside? It won't be that office anyway - that's just where you go to sign away your rights to a drug test - it'll just be an equally sad, grey-carpeted office where banging your head into your cubicle feels good if nothing else because you are FEELING SOMETHING. Why did I start this post? Oh right, God's joke. After the temp agency I stopped by Starbucks, not because I have any business buying $4 coffee, but because Bud gave me a gift card in addition to my lovely thermos for Valentine's Day. He's good like that. I ordered a big iced tea (I was dying of thirst from that hot, stuffy...no no I won't keep explaining) and promptly spilled the entire thing in Bud's truck. You know those moments when you really do laugh, just because, what else, you're going to cry again? I mopped it all up, got a refill (thank you Starbucks employees!) and went to the gym. I came home afterwards and felt so much better and decided to take the dogs on a walk. I had them both on a pretty short leash because we're trying (and losing the battle!) to teach them to heel and be those impressive dogs that everyone watches walking down the street. Sadie squatted to do her thing (too much leftover pot roast) and Copper sauntered over and...PEED ON HER HEAD. No! REALLY! And, and, at least I wasn't PEED on yesterday.
