First search

So yesterday I went on my first missing pet search with Copper. We didn't find the dog (miniature dachshund ): but Copper picked up her scent in several nearby areas so we narrowed down what probably happened to her. We searched for a long time in the hot, sticky, south-Georgia sun - taking a couple of much needed water breaks before calling off the search. I know Copper's not used to not finding the animal he's looking for so I think he was confused towards the end like, ok, where are you hiding her? Sadly of course, we weren't. I'm leaving for Millie's house in North Carolina in a few minutes where we will train Copper more extensively this week. After returning, it's the scary phase of my business - marketing - which basically means selling myself but not in the horrible way it sounds like when that phrase comes out. I've ordered promotional postcards and business cards so next week I have to go around posting and handing them out. Something about the whole, "Hi I'm so-and-so, please don't slam the door in my face and at least hear what I have to say because I am selling something, selling something you might find valuable..." I'd probably slam the door too.
