And all this time, I thought he was listening to me

Bud and his coworkers came into the restaurant today. And I was flattered and happy that they did but for some reason I became (even more) socially awkward than usual. I stood at their table while my brain thundered, THINK OF SOMETHING WITTY TO SAY. To which my armpits said, ok, yes, we will start sweating. And then some other part of my body gave me those little hot flashes that say, embarassing yourself! embarassing yourself! And why? I know these people, they are nice people. God got all stingy on me when it came to social grace. One of my managers was walking by the table so I grabbed his arm to introduce him to Bud. He jokingly asked Bud how he handles it (living with me)? And Bud said, I just get home from work, crack open a beer and put it in cruise control.
