Is it a BIRD?! IS IT A BIRD?!
Last night Ashley and I went to see a sneak preview of Fracture and afterwards she came over for some (box!) wine. When we first got home, she stepped outside to call Phil while I (not surprisingly) got online to check a couple of things. Somehow, he got let in. I'm still not sure what he was, but I kept screaming, "is it a bird? IS IT?! A BIRD?! A MOTH?! WHAT is going on?" and Ashley replied, "OH GOD IT HAS LEGS," She tried shooing it outside while I helped by waiting in my bedroom with the door shut, yelling, "get it! is it gone? get it! is it gone?" like a confused savant who NEEDED THAT THING OUT. When he wouldn't shoo, I grabbed the broom and whacked him to death. Put him outside on the porch to take a picture where, I am not kidding, he somehow ended up back in the living room, on the carpet. I felt like I was all of a sudden in a horror movie. Here's the picture below but be aware, he looks so much bigger in real life.

Hi Hope,
I actually know what that is. It's a luna moth. My old boss photographed one for me, framed it, and gave it to me as gift when I left the job. I have it hanging in one of our bathrooms. How random!
LOL. If I hadn't been so scared I might've taken the time to realize it was pretty. Thanks for the info! (here I am wacking it to death while other people are enjoying it's beauty)
Amy beat me to it - but I appreciate the distraction, as always. http://insects.tamu.edu/fieldguide/cimg296.html
Damn Hope!!!
TOOOO FUNNY!!!! SORRY...but I have to give you a hard time for this one...and I truly hope Bud did too! If he hasn't...he should have! lol!!!
Is this the same girl that was raised in the south...likes to go camping, hiking, owns a tracking business, is a friend to every stray animal around and has a boyfriend that is a good ole' Texas boy who hangs out in the woods for a living???
It's not like it's a rat, a poisonous snake, some kind of vicious creature or something...it's a BUG for the love or God...lmao!!!
Okay...I'm done now...except for laughing and shaking my head...
Hope everything is going well in your little corner of the world!

John said to tell you that you shouldn't feel bad about killing it. Apparently, the moths only live for a week.

Hence the word lunacy.
