The weather outside is frightful
Last night we had the coldest night in Alabama so far this season. They even posted little cardboard signs around our apartment complex that said "Freeze Warning". I'm not sure what those are meant to accomplish. Bud started to argue with me about how, no, it's a good idea for management to put those up. I asked, "why, just in case someone usually sleeps outside in December, next to their apartment? But tonight folks, bring the tent inside,". My smart-alleck comments aside, it was truly very cold. Even here. In deep-south Alabama. Bud made a fire and it looked so cozy I thought it would be a good idea for us to sleep next to it last night. Like they did in olden days. I've always had some obsession with living like people did in the past. Around 4:30 this morning we both woke up. The fire had died completely and we were huddled together under one blanket - yes, probably like olden times. If we'd been serfs. I kept muttering something about adventure but Bud finally convinced me to come get in our real bed. Now I know mom says it's the virus, not being cold, but I woke up with a throat-ache and runny nose. At least here in 2006 I can take Tylenol.
