Revealing

We had a steak dinner two nights after Thanksgiving, all of us, at Guerin and Mary's new, very lovely, house. It seemed appropriate although at first we might just sound like gluttons or pigs. But really when you think of all the sticky, starchy and sweet foods that are eaten over a Thanksgiving table, steak does seem like the way to go - if a day or two later. The meal itself was in a word salavatalicious (please don't call me out on that, I made it up, but I think it sounds good) though the best part was the red-wine conversation. The kind where mom looked like she was crying from laughter and everyone was just waiting for the person talking to stop so they could blurt something out. At one point my blog got brought up which is one part flattering, one part embarassing. The gist of the conversation was Thank Goodness Hope has a Blog, an outlet for what would otherwise be her ceaseless talking. I took it on the chin, I think. I took it on the chin until I heard mom mutter, "and revealing". What? And here I thought I was pretty discreet. Wow, imagine if I didn't reign myself in.
