A few of my favorite things
I don't know if it's the family size bag of M & M's I'm eating or the bright holiday displays! I just wandered through at Wal-Mart but I am so in the Christmas spirit today. And we haven't even had Thanksgiving! Normally Christmas pisses me off just a little. A holiday where I'm obligated to wrack my brain for gift ideas for my enormous family and then go out and spend lots of money on those (not always great) ideas. Then generally after I see the pile of gifts under the tree for me, I am placated. Actually, no, better than that, then I'm thrilled I have a big family. And honestly, when all is said and done I do like giving the gifts. But the crowded parking lots and hot stores lit with fluorescent bulbs make me want to puke. Not this year though. This year I ran from store to store and found perfect gifts for everyone. It was as if the presents just hopped off the shelves into my cart, did a little dance to convince me of how absolutely fitting they would be for each member of my family, and off we went to the check-out! Now I'm wrapping them all up into pretty packages, ready for our trip to Ohio tomorrow. I can't get the line, brown paper packages tied up with strings, out of my head either. Two can play at this game Martha Stewart!
