I'll strap beef jerky to my thigh
Nancy said when her little boy Dougy was in Boy Scouts, her husband, Doug, was one of the Scout leaders. Consequently, he participated in some of the ceremonies, one which included an elaborate rite of passage whereby you got thudded on the chest which signified being chosen to go out in the woods for 24 hours. During this 24 hours you could neither talk nor eat much. A small ration of food was given to you in the morning and other than that you slept in the woods and worked, I'm assuming on outdoorsy stuff, for a full day. Doug, in anticipation of the lack in real food said, it was ok, he'd just strap beef jerky to his thigh.
